YEARNINGS #1

O come, God the Holy Spirit come
Come and clear all filth and scum
All that’s evil and God opposed
Be lamed, tamed and fully controlled.

Cut away this forest of flesh
Weed away sin germs afresh
Medicate and heal my spirit sick
To you O vine, me branch I stick.

Let not impurity be my friend
Let me not follow this sinful trend
Let sanctity, beauty be my consort
Let love and devotion obsess my thought.

Let this self, dirty and mauled
Be killed, annihilated with a new one installed
O come New Self, the essence of God
You, who that holy road did trod.
