Love Defined...

By: C. Dakota

What is love, some one did ask.
A need to describe it, a daunting task.

What is love, God did describe.
Love one another and be kind.

To love my neighbor as my self,
And wish my enemy the best of health.

Unconditional? How can that be?
To think of someone other than me,

So unnatural, what do I do?
To think of love, I haven’t a clue.

God defined love that I am sure.
A love pouring out and always pure.

Ruling on high, he came to earth.
Subject to the virgin birth.

Serving man as a guiding light
Leading us from the dark of night.

His healing touch many did feel
And still today the touch is real.

Man condemned because of their sin
Death was sentenced; no one would win.

He gave his life that we may live
A love so pure He did give.

He thought of us before the pain.
He served us that we may gain.

All He does still shows his love
It pours on us from up above.

Love is defined. God did say,
Put others first, there’s no other way.
