I know there is no perfect church

I know there is no church that's all it ought to be,
and down here a perfect one we'll never see.
I'm not looking for a church without empty pews,
nor one where everyone always pays their dues.
But my heart has craved to see the people saved.
Saved from selfishness and sin;
see them letting CHRIST live within.
A people who are surrendering all,
counting other ‘things but dung’ is their call.
They've been given a new heart and a sword.
They live to love and serve the Lord.
Their old life has been crucified.
With their new life they’re satisfied.
They don't need to grasp for life,
and they flee from things like strife.
The life of CHRIST is their life now
and how to live HE tells them how.
