Climbing Boulders

Sometimes it seems Boulders are being placed in our lives, as way to trip us up in our walk with Christ. We face these boulders, sometimes in fear and trembling. What if we trip? In an earlier analogy I spoke of when my Dad used to take me Rock climbing, the rocks would rise hundreds of feet from the earth, but I was not really scared, not even as a five year old child, because I knew to hold on to my Dad's hand. He had climbed those Rocks most of his life, and I knew his hand was my lifeline. Why is it I knew to hang on to my Dad's hand, but sometimes when I slip I let go of the hand of my Abba Father when we are climbing those boulders.

In childhood we were told the story of the Boy who cried wolf, he cried it so many times falsely that when the wolf came knocking at the door, no one was there to save him, because they did not believe him. How many of us as Christians are crying wolf? How many are borrowing sorrow from tomorrow? If we continue to do that, when the trouble really comes. we'll end up like the boy who cried wolf, with a wolf at our door and no one to help.

There are many wolves and boulders we face in this society when it comes to walking with Christ. People want to see us trip up, some look for it, but the truth of the matter is we will trip, we will face those Boulders that trip us up, but when we fall will we reach out to Christ, or will we walk away from everything we believe?

Remember that Public Service announcement awhile back that spoke against drugs? The commercial basically told us no child grows up saying they want to do drugs, the enviroment they are in has a large factor to do with that.

As you face the boulders in our life whose hand are you going to reach for?
