A Fresh Yearning

FRESH YEARNINGS

Renew my spirit
Renew my soul
Refresh and redeem
From sin’s stronghold
Fresh like dew
And white like snow,
Be my spirit
That purity you sow.

Come and distill
The muddy waters of my being
Come and dig in me
A clear nascent spring
Sweet ocean you be
And I your stream,
Fulfill dear Lord
This sincere dream.
