60 Dollars and Faith-A Sunday Morning Lesson

By: idea coach

It is Sunday morning and my husband is leaving the house early to attend Sunday school while I remain home until the start of church. My migraine headache was still throbbing in my head. I did not know if it was from the frustration of trying to complete some internet marketing tasks or just the lack of sleep.

I watched my husband pause as he was about to close the door. As he looked down at the front steps, he looked confused. “Whats wrong?” I asked him. He leaned over and picked up three 20-dollar bills. This was by our door. “Where did it come from? he asked. I knew right away. It was the same money I had stuffed in the pocket of my exercise pants the day before.
In my preoccupation with multiple things crowding my mind, I probably forgot, when I pulled out my cell phone to be sure my overburdened hips did not push out the money.

The Urban Miracle

However, an entire night had passed and the money was still on the front steps. Wow! As we said a prayer of thanks, we knew that was divine interventions.
I lay back down in the bed to work on my resting my mind and quiet the tension in my head. I picked up a book by the late Bishop Patterson, “Here Comes The Judge, and read.

A Faith Mantra

There, on page 129 was a wonderful mantra for faith. The he stated that he had heard another minister give a definition of faith to mean, FOR ALL, I THANK HIM, FOR ALL I TRUST HIM, FOR ALL, I TURN TO HIM. I repeated it over and over again while I briefly rested.
• I was reminded to let go of my questions about how to do some technical stuff and get ready to go to church.

• I was reminded that HE IS IN CONTROL so just chill.

• I was reminded not to give up in trying to do good because HE IS FAITHFUL. (Hebrews 10:23)

I challenge us all to look for the evidence of His faithfulness in everything we do and stay encouraged.
